The Rev’d Elizabeth P. Randall, Rector

Elizabeth Randall came to St. Andrew’s in August 2009, just after St. Andrew’s moved back into its church home.  She is delighted to take her place in a community that values excellence in liturgy and music, understands meaningful and effective outreach to be an essential part of any faith community, and wants to see children and their families honored as vital members of the church.  These shared values, along with a sense that the St. Andrew’s community is caring and fun, led her to answer the call to be the rector of this growing church.

Elizabeth is a graduate of Smith College and Yale Divinity School.  She was ordained in the Diocese of Colorado in 1994 and served as Canon Educator and Cathedral Spiritual Director at St. John’s Cathedral until 2009.  Before that she taught at a New England boarding school, led wilderness trips, and lived and worked in Nicaragua.

Elizabeth and her husband Alan Gottlieb,  publisher of EdNews Colorado, have a young adult daughter, Marian.  As a family they enjoy hiking, travel, and sailing.

    Wib Garfield - Deacon

The Rev’d Elizabeth “Wib” Garfield, Deacon

As deacons in The Episcopal Church hold jobs in the secular world, Wib is employed as a paralegal specializing in civil litigation with a private practice firm in downtown Denver.  Wib’s ministry focuses on seeking out those persons who have been displaced from their homes, families and community and this is lived out through the time she serves at Sacred Heart House and The Delores Project.  Additionally, as Deacon, Wib works to empower and support the outreach committee, the parish, and individuals discerning their personal calls to outreach ministry by providing access to resources available for those in need beyond the walls of St. Andrew’s.

Wib was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and grew up in Minnesota, Illinois and Iowa.  She obtained a degree in political science from Iowa State University.  She was ordained by Bishop O’Neill in 2007.

In addition to the time she spends in support of her ministry in the Denver community, she loves to knit (not so much to tink), cook, read, and spend time walking and playing with her dog Mabel.
