ELF: Interfaith Dialogue: Muslim, Jewish, Christian
Join us to deepen knowledge, connection and practice in individual faith traditions, to strengthen understanding and true relationship among all Abrahamic faith traditions, and to touch the spirit that underlies them all. This five-week series will conclude with all three presenters in a panel discussion on May 5, 2016.
- Rabbi Stephen Booth-Nadav: The founder of Wisdom House of Denver; April 14.
- Monir Ludin: A leader in several Muslim and interfaith organizations promoting collaboration, communication, and interfaith dialog; April 21 and 28.

Save the Date: All Our Exploring
Our Season of Renewal begins Sunday, May 1 at 5:30pm
This summer we invite the entire parish community into a season of renewal, where, through a series of special events, we will reconnect with sources of meaning that have sustained this community for a hundred years and more — while having some fun! Meanwhile, the rector will be on sabbatical.
Join us May 1, at 5:30 pm, for a “lessons and carols” service called “All Our Exploring.” Afterwards, join us in the undercroft for a party. This will be a chance for Mother Elizabeth to tell us about her sabbatical journeys, for the group planning parish events to tell you what’s in store, and for Mother Melissa to tell you about plans for pastoral coverage.
This season of renewal for the parish is sponsored in its entirety by a generous grant from the Lilly Endowment.
Imago Divina: Musical Meditation for Connecting to The Divine, April 17
The next in our Imago Divina series connecting the arts to the Divine features Ann Martin, Sound Energy Practitioner, Sunday April 17, 5:30pm, in a transformative evening with Tibetan singing bowls. Having the power to touch the Sacred in each of us, their sound and vibration lead the human heart and mind into heightened consciousness. Through hands-on activities, participants will learn:
The history of the singing bowls and how they are used today
- The benefits of sound and vibration and the effects on mind, body and spirit
- How to access connection with Spirit, and inspired intuition
- How to improve focus and effectiveness of meditation/prayer
The evening will include meditations featuring both crystal and metal singing bowls, and conclude with dinner in the undercroft, where Ann Martin will participate in a Q&A. As thoughts of the day fall away, you can enter “the peace that passes all understanding” on the waves of resonance from the bowls. When you leave, you will carry a higher vibration to greet your world!
On May 15, our Imago Divina series will conclude with the dance troupe Wonderbound highlighting the connection between movement and the Divine.

Family Promise
It is once again our time to support the First Unitarian Church while they are hosting homeless families for the week of April 24th. We at St. Andrew’s will be responsible for dinner on Wednesday, April 27th and on Thursday, April 28th, Overnight on Thursday and breakfast on Saturday, April 30th morning.
Family Promise has expanded its services beyond their housing program. They have a mentor program for families that are housed, but need support to continue with financial planning, education and family help for day care/schooling. Last year, the program housed 73 families composed of 238 individuals. The percentage of families exiting with employment or in education program is 84%. Families moved into stable housing is 70% and 87% of families exiting with an improved financial condition. Family Promise has helped not only helped these individuals to find housing, but to move them into their home with a grant from U-Haul. They also have a grant for Rental Assistance of $65,000 that can help families.

A Meal that Heals Cook Day: Saturday, April 30
A Meal that Heals is a pastoral ministry of the Community of Caring that responds to needs by providing a nourishing meal to individuals and families. Our hope is that by offering a meal in the time of need like a surgery, illness, or childbirth, you can worry less about finding sustenance and more about renewal and refreshment. Again, we are almost all out of meals! Please join us in the Undercroft on Saturday, April 30 at 9:30am to enjoy cooking together to replenish our supplies. We hope to create a number of dishes that we will freeze for future pastoral needs.
How can you be a Partner in Ministry for a Meal that Heals? We are seeking: chefs, donations of food and supplies, and deliverers. We invite you to pray about how you can partner in ministry with us. If you have any questions or are interested in participating, email Barbara Day and Karen Mayes. We look forward to cooking together as a church community at the end of the month!

If you would like to help the parish, get a little exercise, and enjoy a little fresh air, consider being a part of the lawn mowing team here at St. Andrew’s this summer.
