Advocacy Alerts

Our social justice ministry tracks a number of bills moving through the Colorado legislature each year. Advocacy alerts are posted here when a tracked bill is up for debate, review or a vote. Each advocacy alert will open a PDF with sample text that you can copy and paste into an email. If a bill is being heard in committee, you will see the emails for each of the committee members*. Other alerts will ask you to contact your representatives. If you are not familiar with your local state representatives, you can easily find them by clicking this link. Once you know your representatives, you can simply copy and paste the sample letter, add the names and send it.

*Sending a single email addressed to all of the committee members is helpful, but going through the time of sending a single email to each member is even better. You can still copy and paste each of these emails, changing the names for each email sent.

Current Advocacy Alerts. PLEASE NOTE: The date listed is the deadline for action, not the date the alert was posted. This deadline date usually represents the date a bill is going to be heard in committee, debated or voted upon. We try to give as much advance notice as possible, but sometimes alerts will come in that only give one or two days to take action before the deadline passes, so check this page often. And if you would like these alerts to arrive directly in your inbox, contact Sue Torfin by clicking here.
