Christian Formation

ELF

Explore Life and Faith

ELF is an adult formation series developed by a committee of parishioners at St. Andrew’s.  Everyone, parishioners and non, is invited to participate.

All Are Invited: Contemplation and Action for Social Justice

Please join the Social Justice Ministry for this three-week ELF series. When: Thursday evenings, 7:00-8:15 on January 25, February 1, and February 8 (on Zoom; shared in the newsletter).

January 25th: Lectio Divina for Social Justice. We will guide you through the shared meditation experience that is offered every Thursday at noon on Zoom. This practice underpins the advocacy work we do. It is a guided and then shared meditation based on a reading related to social justice.

February 1: Advocacy for State and City Concerns. We will be joined by Steven Woodrow, Colorado state Representative for District 2, and by a representative of Mayor Johnston's Homelessness Resolution Team. They will share the power of Christian advocacy, highlight effective strategies, and give us a glimpse into future bills and actions that can benefit from our advocacy.

February 8: Advancing our Advocacy Initiatives at St. Andrew's. We will acquaint you with strategies we at St. Andrew's use to influence legislation and social justice awareness. Our structures to engage congregants in the practice of advocacy make it easy to engage with the work to improve systems that affect many, especially the marginalized and disenfranchised.

EfM

Education for Ministry

The Joint St. Andrew’s/Holy Redeemer EfM seminar group is recruiting for September 2024.

This group has expanded over the past several years to now include people from Ascension and St. Luke’s churches. Due to the pandemic, we will be meeting on Zoom again this year on Tuesday evenings, 5:30-8:30 p.m. We have room for only six people so please let us know asap if you are interested.

EfM helps participants to encounter the breadth and depth of the Christian tradition and bring it into relevance with their experiences of the world today as they study, worship, and engage in theological reflection together.

We will begin a new year of study on September 21.  Those who have already committed to the group will be in their second, third, and fourth years of study.

If you are:

…Wondering what it means to develop a personal faith, what the Scriptures really say, or how to discern God’s call in your life?

…Interested in deepening your faith and your understanding of our Christian heritage, learning how to think theologically, and becoming more confident to be Christ’s minister in the world?

…Wondering “what’s next” after finishing Catechumenate?

…Or for you EfM graduates/participants—are you missing the small group intimacy and learning environment?  Thinking you didn’t “absorb” enough the first time around and curious about the new curriculum?

If so, please consider joining our group.

Are you curious about EfM, please contact, Jennifer Macy (303-320-1276), or Shawn Nowlan, (303-250-2705).

Scholarships and/or financial assistance may be available.
